I really like the idea of the first one (of the horse), but I wish that the focus had been on its eye. That's the nature photographer in me--everything is secondary to a sharp eyeball. I do wonder if you're making a bit too much use of the vignette tool, but that's more of an issue of personal taste. Glad to see you're not idle over break!
David, and others... The vignetting is from the lens I used, and subsequently increasing contrast. Sometimes I do use it, but for all of my recent photos I have not.
